WINE

Our vineyard gets a perfect balance of hot, bright sunshine in this Mother Lode region. Every afternoon a good breeze comes up the canyon from the south. The soil is strong. Sustainable farming techniques produce a low-yielding and exceptionally high quality grape.

All of our grapes are grown here at the ranch. We do all of our own pruning, training, thinning, and picking. We take the grapes to Gianelli Winery for crushing, de-stemming, fermenting, and storing in our oak barrels. All of our wine is in the barrel for 20-22 months before bottling. It then comes back to the ranch to be stored in our cave.

We usually have an introductory new vintage sale in the Spring - The First Five Hundred - until we reach 500 bottles sold.

What People Are Saying:

“This 100% Cabernet Franc has aromas of black cherry and violets, exhibiting fine tannins and a long finish. Cabernet Franc will go with a wide range of rich dishes and grilled meat.”

   - Chuck Hovey | Winemaker

“So this is what I have learned about my "Reds." The cabernet Franc is a prim and proper vine - very orderly, unpretentious and elegant. The Sangiovese is robust and athletic, a very whole and hearty vine. The Barbera is brash and unruly - tending them is a lot like riding herd on a bunch of teenagers! I have also learned that I love raising grapes.”

   - Leslie Hurst | Grower

“This vineyard gets a perfect balance of hot, bright sunshine in this higher elevation region. Every afternoon, a good breeze comes up the canyon from the South. The soil is strong. Sustainable farming techniques will produce a low-yielding and exceptionally high quality grape. ”
